About Us
Latino Network Action Fund is a Latine-led 501(c)4 organization created to advocate for legislation, regulations, and programs that promote the general welfare of the Latine Community in Oregon.
The Latine population is the fastest-growing minority group in Oregon and now accounts for 12% of Oregon’s total population. Latines* face many challenges, but the community’s values of strong family connections, culture, language, spirituality, and inherent ganas* (values-driven motivation) promote resilience and success.
LNAF develops and advocates for more equitable policy solutions related to education and early childhood programs, immigrant rights, criminal justice reform, climate justice, and democracy reform issues. LNAF prioritizes these issues using a strategic lens grounded in racial equity and community self-determination. Through an integrated voter engagement strategy, LNAF aims to increase the representation of Latinx leaders in elected office and will hold elected officials accountable for advancing issues prioritized by our community.
Our Mission
Latino Network Action Fund’s foundation comes from the ever-growing need to reshape Oregon’s frame of community representation. As a community-led organization, we are made up of fearless leaders constantly fighting against the anti-immigrant and xenophobic rhetoric.
Our leaders are prepared to hold Oregon to its promise of supporting and welcoming immigrants by championing those who represent our community's interest and those who are currently and historically underrepresented.
Whether it is at Oregon’s state capitol or city and county halls, inside the classroom, outside our courthouses, or strengthening Oregon’s sanctuary promise – we strive to take the lead from our Black Immigrants, Indigenous leaders, and immigrants of color to create a better Oregon.
Our Values
We take lessons from those who have paved the way for success and leadership from our community’s youth;
We create an environment that welcomes community members where they’re at and provide the tools to educate and activate for a more inclusive movement;
Nothing about us without us – we push for community representation in spaces that historically have pushed us out.
We are not alone in the struggle! – Black immigrants and immigrants of color will be centered in the work we do and recognize the intersections with other currently and historically underserved communities.
